IJYI CELEBRATE 5 YEARS IN BUSINESS
Ipswich based IJYI celebrated 5 years of business in typical IJYI style by turning their boardroom into a retro arcade studio! Clients, suppliers, partners, friends and family joined the IJYI team to celebrate the fantastic achievements of the team over the last 5 years.
“It’s been great to reflect on the journey we’ve been on over the past 5 years, the people we’ve been involved with and how the team has grown in that time. The people that came to our 5th birthday party were the people who’ve been on that journey with us; clients, family, previous and current staff and our ‘IJYI Arcade’ went down a storm!” Chris Pont, CEO IJYI
The celebrations began with the whole company gathering together to take a look through some pictures of IJYI through the years. Chris Pont shared some fond memories of the early days of IJYI when it was just him and John Nicholson renting a small office in Ipswich.
Shortly after moving into their first office IJYI took on their very first member of staff, Inky Simmons and from that moment IJYI went from strength to strength. The team soon grew out of that small office and they moved to the iconic Connexions building in August 2017.
IJYI has grown rapidly and expanded their services portfolio to include software delivery, DevOps consultancy, cloud consultancy and their five day product design sprints and discovery workshops .
“It is an amazing achievement to have come so far and it has been great to celebrate this milestone with so many our customers and colleagues. We look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of software delivery into the future.” John Nicholson, CTO IJYI
IJYI have become a well respected member of the local tech community hosting and sponsoring several industry events such as the Dev://East and nor(DEV) conferences and the upcoming SyncIpswich and TechEast Tech’n’Toast events.
Working with the community is really important to IJYI, some of the team hosted a CoderDojo at Ipswich library this summer where 22 young people attended to learn about programming. The whole team at IJYI feel really strongly about encouraging young people into the tech sector and this was a great opportunity for young people to come and spend some time with really experienced Developers and have a go at programming.
