It’s nothing new to say that digitization of businesses promises increased productivity, efficiency and customer benefits. But how in practice do you go about taking the next step?

A new programme from Tech East, the region’s digital tech network, and Amazon Web Services, the world leader in cloud computing promises to deliver these important next steps.

Tech East has partnered with Amazon Web Services to bring an exciting opportunity to small businesses in the East of England. On April 29th the Digital Innovation Program for Small and Medium business kicks off with five days of practical learning. Any SME can sign up for this week which runs between April 29th and May 6th.

The week is called “The art of the possible for SMEs”. AWS and Tech East have curated a selection of learning topics and best practice insights of critical importance to SMEs in the UK who are looking to innovate with digital. The programme will provide inspiration, and practical examples highlighting how SMEs in the UK are leveraging cloud capabilities to transform and differentiate their businesses. It will help businesses realize opportunities to drive growth, reduce costs, and improve customers’ experience. The types of session include interactive webinars, fireside chats with SMEs, and drop-in support sessions.

But that’s not all. The second part of the programme begins on 24th of May, consisting of a five-day, 9 hour “Invent with Amazon program” where AWS will get hands on with your business to help you define a new product, service, or experience that will delight your customers. You’ll “work backwards” from your customers, using tried and tested Amazon methods, and then be supported to bring your new digital offering to life and test it with your customers.

There’s an explainer video about the Tech East/AWS programme on YouTube Tim Robinson COO Tech East

But don’t take my word for it! William Bridgman, Chairman of Warren Services, a Thetford-based manufacturer of components and mechanical / electrical sub-assemblies says:

‘I am really looking forward to being part of this great program. The East has a lot of amazing SMEs and hopefully, they will see this as an opportunity not to be missed…so please follow my lead and sign up now’

The programme is the first of its kind in the world and Amazon will be sharing its knowledge of innovation with SMEs in an unprecedented way.

Sign up for more information. We suggest everyone registers for the kick-off session, and then picks other topics of interest.
