Norfolk & Suffolk Fintech cluster: a missed opportunity ready to be grasped

Help shape our understanding and future options in the first Fintech Futures Working Group.

Norfolk and Suffolk are growth hubs for a number of tech-enabled sectors. We know how to start and scale firms; what it takes to attract the talent and funding; and to put ideas into practice. But, what about Fintech?

What would it take for Norfolk & Suffolk to be an attractive ‘hub’ – and would potential benefits justify the effort? Other UK regions – like Bristol and Bath – have done an excellent job of mapping out their Fintech Ecosystem, telling a compelling story of their contribution to national growth, and attracting funding and recognition. But how much further ahead are other UK clusters in reality? What can we learn from their experience?

Please join a small group of stakeholders, regional experts and FinTech knowledge leaders for a 3-hour Fintech Futures Working Group designed as a first step to working out where we are now – and where we might go next.

Convened by The Financial Industry Group (FIG), Financial Insurance and Professional Services Group (FIPS) and Tech East and supported by New Anglia LEP this is an invitation only meeting. With your collaboration, we’ll aim to map out:

• how much fintech is already here, and how could we do a better job of supporting these firms?

• potential opportunities for our region and ‘the size of the prize’

• the assets we have as a cluster — and our key deficits

We’re busy putting together a structured, enjoyable programme that will include succinct contributions from subject matter experts and facilitated group discussion, so we make the most of our time together.
