21st Feb 2019 - 23rd Feb 2019, 8am - 6pm
FEBRUARY 21ST – 23RD
nor(DEV):con is back! After taking a well earned break, the region’s biggest tech conference returns in February 2019 and promises to be even bigger than before!
The updated format will include new specialisms including a dedicated Process Track, to include other development processes (not just Agile), as well as the People Track which aims to focus on the holistic side of tech life. The Schools Day, designed to encourage young people into tech, is set to return as is the full day of workshops on the preceding Thursday. Conference favourites like the Business Track are looking to be even bigger than last time, and so is another delegate favourite – the Wine Reception!
Friday evenings’ Wine Reception will now be held in the main hall and we’re hoping a glass or two will encourage new speakers and old to present Lightning Talks as everyone networks ahead of the main event!
We are also looking forward to welcoming new sponsors as well as speakers in 2019, the first of which is IJYI, our Elite Sponsors. Suffolk-based firm IJYI are specialists in software solutions, consultancy and hosting and we’re chuffed to bits that they’re on board for nor(DEV):con.
The buzz for nor(DEV):con 2019 has already started and we’re sure you’ll agree that it was worth the wait!
THE FAILURE OF FOCUS
We know that in our landscape of people and technology, aiming for a particular outcome doesn’t always lead to us getting what we want. Sometimes the best results come from approaching a problem obliquely. But in Agile our highest priority is to satisfy the customer through the early and continuous delivery of valuable software. We like to start with the outcome, meet the needs of our users, delivering high-quality working software with happy teams and true agility… but how might that focus be holding us back, and what are the alternatives?
In this talk we look at some different strategies for approaching complex ecosystems, starting from where we are right now, and allowing innovation to emerge through obliquity, naivety, and serendipity.
We’re waiting for confirmation on Kevlin’s keynote. Check back soon for more!
