“Technology comes to the Suffolk Show”
The Suffolk Show is organised by the Suffolk Agricultural Association (SAA) and is part of their 187 year history. It is the largest two-day visitor experience in the County and takes place at Trinity Park, Ipswich. Traditionally focused on celebrating everything that makes the County great, it showcases the best of Suffolk’s food, farming and agricultural heritage with support from most sectors of the Counties economy. At this year’s show on 30th and 31st May, for the first time, BT and IM have a major presence aiming to showcase how technology and agriculture are coming together and as part of both the SAA’s and BT’s educational programmes for young people across the County and beyond.
At the Show, in addition to EE providing a mobile Mast , BT will be hosting a technology marquee showcasing hands-on experiences of some of the latest innovative technologies being developed at Adastral Park. BT’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths (STEM) and Computing activities are also being showcased. Alongside all of this, two of our IM companies – Smart Networked Environments and Chronicle – have a key presence.
As part of a collaboration with the SAA, West Suffolk College and Suffolk County Council, a new digital experience for Show-goers has been developed. Smart Networked Environments are providing a major new interactive app – The Suffolk Show App – whilst Chronicle is delivering new content for a special show ‘treasure trail’ Collectively the aim is to deliver a set of exciting new inspirational experiences and interactive demonstrations for visitors
This talk will give an overview of the BT and IM presence at the 2018 Show. It will also highlight the close collaboration that exists between BT and the companies in the Innovation Martlesham (IM) cluster, demonstrating the strength of the IM ecosystem which has the ability to deliver unique solutions into the region
Come along, meet and hear from the speakers involved in coordinating the 2018 initiative.
