Codebar Norwich Workshop

After the great success of our first workshop, we’ve decided to host another! Join us for food, drink and to get started with learning to code with the help of a mentor. We are also looking for mentors to help guide the students through the tutorials, so if you’re interested then please sign up as a coach!

Meetup RSVP’s for this event are closed, so if you’re planning on attending, please add yourself to the workshop on the codebar website here: & don’t forget your laptop.

For those of you who do not know who or what codebar is, here is some background info..

What is Codebar?

Codebar support organisers and mentors with a variety of available tutorials in HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript and Ruby. If you fancy to learning something else, pop us an email and we can see what we can do!
codebar sessions run for 2 hours, in which students can choose to follow either our set tutorials or focus on a personal project.

Who Can Attend a codebar Workshop?

Codebar workshops are free, regular workshops available to women, LGBTQ and people who are underrepresented in the tech industry. If you belong to one of these groups, you are more than welcome to attend as a student.

But we welcome anyone to become a codebar mentor and please feel free to sign up if you would like to pass on your skills and enable, support, mentor and welcome women, LGBTQ and people who are underrepresented minority groups, into the industry. We really need YOU, the community to make this happen, so please do get involved!

Why Did You Start codebar in Norwich?

We feel that we should pick up from where the great work SyncDevelopHER events left off in supporting women in technology – SyncDevelopHER events laid the foundations, these events had women speakers and have sadly not taken place for a couple of years but have continued their activities through the DevelopHER Awards and as such Digital East Anglia have decided to sponsor this years awards which will be held in Norwich to further support and promote women in technology in the East of England, via the DevelopHER Awards founded by Vickie Allen.

Want to get involved?

Great! Go to: and sign up. Once you’ve done that, add yourself as a student or mentor for the Norwich chapter and sign yourself up for our first workshop.

It is totally free to do so, as is attending our workshops. You will have to sign up for this workshop via the codebar website here

Hope to see you on the 18th at St Georges Works reception at 6pm!
